Every since joining the Bubblebox team, the idea of attending Dreamforce was a long-term goal. And this year it’s being realized. As a Salesforce Technical Consultant, Dreamforce is a great opportunity to explore solutions that would make a significant and positive impact on our customer’s success.

One way I hope to contribute to our customer’s success, as well as our own, is immersing myself in a 3-day workshop to learn from Salesforce experts, further develop my skills and earn the Salesforce Platform Developer Certification. While it may not seem glamorous for many, sitting in a classroom for 3 full days, I’m excited for the opportunity to be amongst other Salesforce professionals and trailblazers to gain new knowledge and learn about the custom development side of Salesforce.com. This means taking the existing fundamental knowledge I have relating to that of an administrator and consultant, and building on that to develop the skills that are required to extend the capabilities of Salesforce.

Collaborating and sharing ideas in person with other trailblazers will be a nice change of pace from long hours working through Trailhead modules alone. Having access to other attendees, hearing their experiences and stories, and getting real-time feedback will be invaluable.

At the end of the workshop, I will test my knowledge and attempt the Salesforce Certified Platform Developer exam. Gaining hands on experience and earning my certification would allow me to further help our customers who have very custom or specific requests that are sometimes only obtainable through the developer route, leveraging technologies such as Apex, VisualForce, and Lightning Components.

Post workshop, I’ll have the chance to attend and experience what Dreamforce has to offer. From the stories I've heard, San Francisco becomes flooded with all things Salesforce. It does sound a bit like Disneyland, but instead of rides there are demo booths, instead of shows there are keynotes, and instead of Mickey Mouse they have... Astro? Maybe it's not that much like Disneyland, but I’m still excited to get the chance to see new features and applications in action, converse with other Salesforce users (some of those being Bubblebox customers), and to hear first-hand some of the grand plans for the future of these platforms.

If you'll be attending, don't hesitate to reach out! The Bubblebox team would be happy to meet. Click here to connect with us.
